Waveview Software
Glottal Enterprises has recently
developed Waveview,
a new computer program for inverse filtering both CV-mask (airflow)
and microphone (radiated pressure) waveforms during speech and
singing. The program will also accept and display a simultaneous
electroglottograph signal, and can correct the electroglottograph
waveform for low frequency phase distortion, a common problem in
electroglottograph waveform analysis. We have tried to keep the
user interface simple and intuitive, to make it useful for students
as well as voice researchers.
Waveview is designed as a convenient computer
program for performing inverse-filtering of an oral airflow (CV
mask) or radiated pressure (omni-directional microphone) waveform. In
performing inverse-filtering, it can be used with WAV-encoded files
recorded by any system for capturing airflow or audio waveforms. However,
Waveview can do much more. The Waveview program also displays a
simultaneously recorded electroglottograph (EGG) waveform, permits
low-frequency phase correction of an EGG or microphone signal waveform,
computes and displays average airflow and sound pressure level
(SPL) calculated from airflow, calculates and displays two versions
of the AC/DC ratio first proposed by Isshiki, provides simplified
offset and amplitude calibration for airflow, and offers a convenient
means for correcting the time alignment between inverse-filtered
glottal waveforms and EGG traces. Waveview can also be coordinated
with the VoceVista real-time visual feedback system
for singing voice analysis.
Waveview Features

WaveviewStudent Software
WaveviewStudent is an interactive instructional program that takes
the user through most of the features of the Waveview program and
how best to interpret the results of the analysis. The CD includes
an exercise manual that can be printed from the CD and a number
of airflow, microphone and EGG waveforms that are used in the exercises. |
